Professional Experience
Mr. Shapiro's practice is primarily devoted to commercial and complex business litigation, business torts, non-compete and trade secret litigation, commercial landlord/tenant litigation, construction litigation and products liability litigation.
Education
Mr. Shapiro graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Professional Activities
Mr. Shapiro served on the Ad Hoc Committee for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit's Business Litigation Division, which committee established the framework and procedures for Miami-Dade County's Business Litigation Division, which was established in 2006. He is a member of the DadeCounty and American Bar Associations. He served on the Dade County Bar Association’s Board of Directors in 2002-2003. He previously served as Chairman of the Banking and Corporate Litigation Committee and the Mediation Committee, and was chairman of the Federal Courts Committee from 2005-2007. Since 2007, Mr. Shapiro has led a fundraising effort to help save the Miami-Dade County Law Library.
Civic Activities
Mr. Shapiro is an active participant in charitable projects in the South Florida community, including having served on the Executive Committee of the Broward Education Foundation Scholarship Celebration.
