Manuel A. Garcia-Linares, Managing Shareholder of the law firm, has been elected a Vice President of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA). CABA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, voluntary bar association established in Miami in 1974. For over 30 years, our mission has been to serve the community and to improve the legal profession through greater diversity and equality of opportunity throughout Florida (www.cabaonline.com).
Garcia-Linares practices primarily in the areas of commercial and class action litigation as well as corporate and transactional matters. He also handles inland marine (“cargo claims”) defense matters for the firm.
An active community leader, Garcia-Linares serves as a Trustee of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the City of Coral Gables Parknership Committee and Retirement Board, where he previously served as Chairman from 2005-2006. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a member and Past President of the Cuban American Certified Public Accountants Association, Inc. (President, 2000-2001). He was formerly the Vice President of the St. Theresa School Board and a member of the Belen Jesuit Preparatory School Board Leadership Development Group and is currently one of the Belen Alumni Association Class Delegates for his class.
Recognized by his peers and the legal community, Garcia-Linares has been named a Top Lawyer in the 2007 South Florida Legal Guide, 2007 Super Lawyers and the 2007 Florida Legal Elite. A resident of Coral Gables, Garcia-Linares received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Tulane Law School and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Miami. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
